What are asset libraries?

Asset libraries help you organize your brand’s assets, such as images, icons, and slides, so your team can access them all in one place.

Asset libraries are created in BrandIn, and connect to existing folders or libraries in SharePoint or OneDrive. The assets stay stored in those locations, but appear in BrandIn once linked.

You can rename your libraries in BrandIn without affecting the name in SharePoint or OneDrive, and reorder asset libraries in settings to prioritize the most important ones for your team.

Find and insert assets

Users can search for assets in libraries and insert one simply by selecting it. All assets except for slides will be inserted into an empty placeholder if one is selected. If none are selected, BrandIn will insert into the first empty placeholder, or the middle of the slide if all placeholders are filled.

Some asset types, like images and slides, have multiple insertion options. Right-click the asset or select the More options button (three dots) to see all available options. You can learn more about insertion behaviour in the asset library types article.

Asset library types

BrandIn has different library types, each designed for different types of assets. Choosing the right library type ensures you and your users get the most out of BrandIn's features. You can choose a library type whenever you add an asset library, and you can change the library type at any point in settings. Learn more about the different library types.

Template library

Every workspace includes a special template library which users can access via the New presentation and New document buttons. When they choose a template, a copy of the file opens in a new window. Learn how to add and organize templates.

Set up asset libraries

Asset libraries are created by linking a SharePoint or OneDrive folder in BrandIn. Learn how to add an asset library.

ℹ️
Linking an existing libraries means you can add the same library to multiple workspaces, allowing you to combine organization-wide libraries with workspace-specific ones. See Best practices for organizing asset libraries to help users find assets easier and get the most out of BrandIn.

Where are assets stored?

Asset libraries are linked to a SharePoint or OneDrive location. All assets are stored in SharePoint or OneDrive, and not in BrandIn itself.
