Every workspace includes a special template library to help your team create consistent, on-brand content. Templates are stored in SharePoint and can be accessed from the New presentation or New document button on the workspace home screen. When users choose a template, a copy of the file opens in a new window, allowing them to edit without affecting the original.
The template library features a unique layout which enables you to promote frequently used templates, with folders appearing beneath them.
Add and manage templates in SharePoint
You can add, edit, and manage templates by going to the templates library in SharePoint:
- On the home screen, right click the New presentation or New document button, or select the More options button (three dots) next to it.
- Select Open in SharePoint. This will open the Documents library for the workspace site, where the templates for BrandIn are stored.
- Once in SharePoint, follow Microsoft's guide on how to upload files and folders to a library.
ℹ️PPTX, POTX, DOCX, DOTX file formats are supported. Once uploaded, the new templates will automatically become available for use in BrandIn.
Best practices for organizing templates
You can organize templates by creating folders, which is especially useful for categorizing templates by project, department, or intended use.
Templates not placed in folders will appear at the top of the list in the New file screen, making frequently used templates easy to find. Folders will be displayed below, allowing you to organize specialized templates.
Remove a template from your workspace
To remove a template from your workspace, you need to delete it from the document library on SharePoint.
- Open the SharePoint location for workspace templates by following steps 1–2 from the Add templates guide above.
- Once in SharePoint, follow Microsoft's guide on how to delete a file or folder from a SharePoint document library.
