What is the slide updates feature?
Slide updates is a feature that keeps selected slides in sync with their source version to ensure key information stays consistent across presentations. These slides are locked for editing. When a slide is updated by an administrator, you’ll be notified and can choose whether to apply the latest version.
How it works
When inserting slides into a presentation using BrandIn, some slides may appear locked for edits and show a link icon on their thumbnail in the asset library. This indicates the slide is kept up to date and connected to the source version.
When that file is updated, you'll receive a notification asking you to update that slide in your presentation. Click Review on the notification to open and preview the update.
Review and update a slide
When you are reviewing the available updates:
- The slide that requires an update is automatically selected and brought into focus in your presentation.
- You’ll see the current version of the slide on the PowerPoint canvas, and a preview of the updated version in the task pane.
- Use the Preview button (1) in the task pane to toggle the updated slide on the canvas in full size for easier comparison.ℹ️This is a preview of the slide. Some visual details may look slightly different until the update is applied.
- Use the Update button (2) to update the slide with the latest version.
- Skipping (3) the update will keep the current version of the slide. You’ll be reminded about the update the next time you open the presentation.
