Add a new workspace

Workspaces in BrandIn are used to separate different brands and teams. Each workspace is linked to a SharePoint site to store assets and data.

Workspaces can be created directly in BrandIn. You can either create a workspace with a new blank site or link an existing site from SharePoint.



Add a workspace

To add a workspace:

  1. Go to the Workspaces screen. You can access it in two ways.
    • Select the Workspaces & account button in the upper-left corner of the home screen to switch workspace.
    • Go to the Settings menu in the lower-right corner of the workspace home screen, and then select Workspaces.
  2. On the workspaces screen, select New workspace. This will open the New workspace menu.
  3. You’ll see two options for adding a workspace: Link existing site and Create new site.

Link existing site

If you already have a SharePoint site you would like to use for the new workspace, you can link it to BrandIn instead of creating a new site.

We recommend using a dedicated blank site, as BrandIn will use it to store files and configuration data. If your existing site is already in use and not blank, try creating a new site, or follow our troubleshooting guide.
  1. In the New workspace menu, select Link existing site.
  2. Open the SharePoint site you want to link to, copy the site’s link from the browser's address bar, and then paste it into the SharePoint link box in BrandIn.
  3. BrandIn fills in the workspace name from SharePoint. If you like you can rename it in BrandIn – this won't affect the name in SharePoint. You can upload an icon for your workspace now or later.
  4. Select Create. This will create a workspace which uses your chosen SharePoint site to store files and data.

Create new site

This option creates a new SharePoint site for the new workspace, directly from BrandIn.

This process will only work if your M365 Admin has approved it for you. If you're not sure about your permission, you can still try the process to see if it works. Alternatively, try linking to an existing site, follow our troubleshooting guide, or contact your M365 Admin for approval.
  1. In the New workspace menu, select Create new site.
  2. Name your workspace.
  3. Choose a privacy setting for your workspace's site:
  4. Select Create. This will create the workspace and its SharePoint site.
  5. Follow the steps in the Complete site creation dialog to validate your new site. Once validated, you can update the workspace's icon.



I can't create a site

If you don't have permission to create a new site from BrandIn, and you don't have an existing site to link to, you might still be able to create a workspace by following our troubleshooting guide on how to create a site if you don't have permission.
