What is Smart Insert?
Smart Insert enables users to replace an image or icon on the slide with a new asset from BrandIn libraries, while preserving the original formatting.
ℹ️Smart Insert is a desktop-only PowerPoint feature.
How does it work?
If a user has selected an image or icon on the slide, inserting a new image from an asset library will automatically replace the selected image, while keeping its size, position, crop and custom formatting intact.
Smart Insert is powered by the BrandIn Desktop Extension.
ℹ️Currently Smart Insert doesn’t support replacing images in placeholders, or replacing multiple selected images at once. In these cases the image will insert with default PowerPoint behaviour.
How to enable Smart Insert
To use Smart Insert, the BrandIn Desktop Extension must be installed for all users. Learn more about the desktop extension and how to install it.
ℹ️If your team is on the free plan, Smart Insert is automatically enabled in all workspaces once the BrandIn Desktop Extension is installed by an admin.
To turn on the feature for a workspace:
- Download the BrandIn Desktop Extension and install it.
- Go to the home screen of the workspace where you want to enable the feature.
- Select Edit next to the workspace name to open workspace settings.
- Go to Features.
- Select Smart Insert and toggle it on.
Once enabled for the workspace, Smart Insert works for users in that workspace who have installed the desktop extension.
